Dr. Jack Berg joined Family Medical Center in 2003 following his retirement from the United States Air Force where he had served as a family physician and flight surgeon. He also held various positions such as Chief of Hospital Services, Chief of Aeromedical Services, Operations Squadron Commander, and Med Group Commander. Prior to entering the Air Force he attended University of Kansas Medical School and completed residency training at the University of Nebraska.
Before entering medical training, Dr. Berg served in the US Navy as a rescue pilot in Viet Nam, was a police officer in California and was a telephone company engineer, as well as a research materials engineer in the plastics industry.
Dr. Berg welcomes most patients of any age and treats chronic and acute problems as well as performing CDL, DOT, work and sports physicals. He maintains an “open” schedule which usually provides flexibility to schedule short notice and same day appointments.
Dr. Berg’s personal interests include jogging, skiing and supporting the arts. He is a fan of the local symphony, chamber groups and opera and sings in his church choir. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, Louisiana State Medical Society and the Shreveport Medical Society.
